Lung Cancer & tongue melanoma -metastatic; 6y/old black Labrador.
Service Dog, best friend, protector & my constant companion.
He's chasing bunnies in the sunshine & swimming in a pond....
Hope he can find Buddy & Peanut!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HEY BUDDIES,
~ I was expecting a Large vet bill for my big black Labrador with his monstrously HUGE black bear's head
~ The Real question?
>When do you let go of your best friend & helper? Especially when he's still running around and still doing his job!
>>> WHAT I DIDN'T EXPECT WAS THE AMOUNT OUTPOURING OF LOVE, support & ASSISTANCE!
I need Any Amount of help! If you can't do it, then don't. many people say "It's just a dog." But he helps me out of bed to the bathroom every morning, in the early AM, the middle of the day then wakes me when I'm sleeping too much and helps me get up whenever I fall & he pulls me up the stairs when I can't do it on my own ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you everyone for your donations and emotional support but this account will now be used for radiation and supportive/palliative care.
~I can not say how grateful I am to my Warkawk friends, SDSU classmates, my fellow Buffs, MBAC cohorts and strangers who are now considered as friends...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am so embarrassed and feel like a failure having to beg for funds to be able to take care of the service dog that takes care of me...This will be a one-time request only.... But I have four email accounts and it seems that they send requests to each address book... Sorry if you got multiple messages.
Thanks for your understanding..
My Service-Dog Hunter presented with really bad breath and excessive drooling three weeks ago.
Hunter's annual Vet visit in February gave him clean bill of health but said his tartar/teeth were okay until an elective dental visit in the six to eight months...
So we treated him for the gingivitis with an antibiotic Rx (Flagyl) which cleared up the dead-squirrel breath but sequentially caused a thrush infection which I treated with an anti-yeast Rx (Fluconazole) which also alleviated the sticky drooling.
~ After clearing up the drool and the sticky yeast I was giving him his monthly toothbrushing and peroxide flush last night I could finally see clearly into his mouth. I was horrified to find a large foreign body
~He has a melenoma growth the size of a Fig Newton on his tongue.
~He is a 6 year-old black Labrador & is an in-training service dog, I have ALS (Lou Gehrig's Motor Neron Disease) and I am homebound and partially paralyzed; and I broke my back twice this year due to falls and I really depend upon him a lot 'cause I'm not allowed on the stairs.
~I live off of SSID (disability) and have about $1000 in my entire lifesavings. The Vet quotes for surgery are between $5000-$14,000! My regular vet said (updated quote on 4/20) $5000 but I am $4000 short and they don't do payment plans...
But they said for $300 they will kill my dog for me, "it's more economical."
I'd be glad to show you my 1099 to prove I'm not making it up...
He's been my angel, I now need an angel to help us out!
$5, $10, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford would help to get him the medical care that I can't afford to give him on my own.
~I always have believed that vets are a gift from God, but I am now beginning to think that the pet industry is based upon inflation-proof emotional blackmail.
~Why should only rich people be able to afford medical help for their fuzzy children?
