Hello my name is Claudia Gamboa and together with my husband Staff Sergeant Gamboa we have decided to raise money for our special little 8 year old boy, Oscar.

He has a degenerative rare medical condition called Lowe Syndrome that affects his eyes, kidneys, and brain. Unfortunately, Oscar medical condition has no cure, meaning over time he will only get worse. Oscar was born blind due to cataracts and since then has had multiple eye surgeries currently having high eye pressure.

Oscar also has Autism, Speech and Severe Developmental delay. Currently, his kidneys are already under a 50% function. The lack of kidney function has severely affected his bones leading to severe Rickets. His Short stature and poor bone health has led to inability to jump, run, and difficulty walking. He now relies on his wheelchair 70% of the time for long distance walking.

Oscar would benefit from a service dog to assist him in his Activities of Daily Living. A service dog would be his eyes for getting around. A service dog would be his arms for when he can’t reach a door, pick up a fallen object and other such task. A service dog will allow him to sleep by himself and have a companion for any emergencies. A service dog would help calm his anxiety during multiple daily doctor and therapy appointments. The dog will be able to redirect him when he is about to have a meltdown from over stimulation and be a constant companion, he can trust no matter how many times we are moved to a new military base.

In short, a Service dog with will give him the independence he needs for the tough times that are ahead. The cost of a service dog for him is $18,000, something that we unfortunately cannot afford so we are asking You to please help us in giving our son a better future and remember that every dollar counts.
