A Service Dog for Carly’s POTS-Fainting and Autoimmune
Donation protected
Hi! I’m Carly, an art historian and educator who has been ultimately suffering from a cocktail of diseases- POTS, Ehler’s Danlos, Fibromyalgia, and other quirky autoimmune and orthostatic problems.
I have consulted with a multitude of local and highly specialized Cleveland Clinic doctors. I’ve had the best care possible.
My real need at this time is a service dog and service dog training opportunities; specifically dogs for POTS. I black out several times a day and often faint, even alone with the kids, which is truly scary. I was unconscious yesterday for 15 minutes with my kids (one 3 months old) in the house alone. I also suffered a concussion and half my face is purple from hitting my eye and cheek on the sink. This is just a normal day and it’s been proven that this can be significantly improved with a service animal. They will be able to tell me before I even feel it so I can get to the floor safely.
They know how to smell a POTS episode and can retrieve you water, medicine, your phone, and even be willing to break your fall and prevent as much injury as possible.
We have two kiddos at home and my normal mounting medical bills, so any help at all would be so appreciated! I would love to get back to work someday once I have this under control, but unfortunately until then, I cannot work.
I appreciate you visiting this page and any little donation- even a dollar- can help.
