For those that may not be aware our son Absher, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in March of this year. Since then, Absher has been courageously managing this chronic condition with the help of insulin injections, blood glucose monitoring, and countless doctor visits. However, despite our best efforts to ensure his safety, there are still moments when he experiences severe hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, which can be life-threatening if not detected and treated in a timely manner. We are reaching out to seek support in fundraising for a life-changing companion, a diabetic alert dog. A diabetic alert dog is specially trained to detect fluctuations in blood sugar levels, even before they become apparent to the human senses. These remarkable animals can sense the scent changes associated with low or high blood sugar levels and alert the individual or their caregiver. By providing this early warning, a diabetic alert dog can help prevent dangerous episodes and provide a sense of security to both Absher and us. Unfortunately, the cost of a trained diabetic alert dog is significant, and we are unable to bear the financial burden alone. We are reaching out to our community and generous individuals to help us raise the necessary funds to acquire a diabetic alert dog for Absher.
