Hi, my name is sharon, the crazy sheep lady.
In 2009 I found a true love and a meaning - At that time I had an extremely successful business, but I felt lost, I had no real purpose in life -then I found a love for ex farmed animals, I built such a strong connection with an old cow Mamamoo, who was due for slaughter at 18 years old and the rest is history.
I literally dedicated my life to rescuing farmed animals.
Over the years as many will know who follow me, I have worked non stop and battled through so many hard times.
I am a very independent woman and I honestly would prefer to not ask for help, but I put my own pride and ego aside for the animals.
My own personal savings and pension pot have gone into perfecting this sanctuary for the animals
Daily life at the sanctuary is intense this year.
We’re caring for so many vulnerable sheep — disabled, deformed, blind, and very elderly souls who depend on us for absolutely everything. Some are in rehabilitation and can’t be left for long at all. Their safety, comfort, and wellbeing are our daily mission.
But the truth is, caring for them through winter is incredibly costly:
• Hard feed & vitamins: £350+ per week
• Hay & straw: £350+ per week (hay top-ups have nearly doubled for further purchases)
• Vet care & medications: constant and essential
We’re now spending around £900 every single week just to keep going — and that’s before maintenance, bills, or living expenses. With the huts closed for winter, our woolly business is our only income, and my life savings have almost completely dried up.
We’re doing everything we can, but we can only survive with your support.

HAY supplies are running out and I NEED help...Yes im gutted that the prices have doubled this year due to weather and little hay produced, but if I run out im in trouble
if I can raise enough to secure 40 bales I should get through winter
Yes we are still hopeful that we can create a business related to the animals to contribute towards the running costs, but even that has been difficult as it means using the cruelty free sheared fleece from my loved sheep, alongside on site shepherd hut rentals and also sheep hugging sessions, but the summer seasons are short and we cannot earn enough money to fund the sanctuary, hence why we started to work with the sheared fleece (Veegon)
Yes im vegan but I love the fleece that my sheep create and discarding it felt so wrong, so I started to create amazing products from their loved fleeces...
I have struggled this year with so many things personally with the suicide of my brother and my mother being diagnosed with dementia - yet you still need to carry on..
And that is only the tip of the iceberg
Running a sanctuary is hard enough, trying to work and earn the funds even if your whole life is turned upside down.
The bottom line is
We are struggling massively this winter
Hay this year is scarce and what you can find has doubled in price
Last year it was 35 per bale ( this year £60 and thats if you can find it )
Im really hoping that this coming year we can free up a field to at least grow some of our own, but this all depends on the weather conditions
