Serina & Jaythan Sayre

After years of struggling to conceive and miscarrying, Adam & Serina Sayre were so happy and proud to announce that they were finally having a baby boy.
They shared this wonderful news with family and friends. Sadly, Serina was informed during pregnancy, she has a restricted placenta. She was on bed rest at home in the beginning of her second trimester. Serina and Adam were going to doctor appointments multiple times a week for monitoring, tests and ultrasounds. Serina was placed on bed rest in the hospital at the end of her second trimester so she can be closely monitored for the remainder of her pregnancy. After doctors discovered she had preeclampsia*, she had to have an emergency C-section. On December 25th, they gave birth to their son whom they named Jaythan Glenn Sayre, weighing only 1 lb. 14 oz. Being born two months prematurely, he is hospitalized in an incubator in a Los Angeles Hospital. Jaythan is under constant care and fighting for his life.
Only a couple days later, Serina was discharged and sent home. She was able to see Jaythan twice. On December 29th, Adam woke up to find his wife unresponsive. She had a brain hemorrhage causing the ambulance to rush her to the hospital. She was rushed to the nearest trauma center. The ambulance got there just in time and the neurosurgeon explained this shocking news to us then rushed her to have emergency brain surgery in order to save her life. It’s been 7 days and she is still unconscious and remains in critical condition. She is still on the ventilator and under 24-hour care. We are not sure when she will wake up or how much brain damage there will be, if any. It could take weeks and possibly months.
Sadly, meanwhile all of this is happening, we were also informed that Jaythan will need heart surgery as soon as he gains weight. Adam was also informed that Jaythan could have a possibility of heart failure. We remain supportive and our thoughts and prayers are with them. We are trying to raise funds for financial and medical needs. Adam is commuting daily to see Jaythan and remains by his wife’s side.
Please help in any way you can to reunite this family. Our hearts go out to them.
*Preeclampsia: a condition during pregnancy where there is a sudden rise in blood pressure and swelling, in the face, hands, and feet. This complication during pregnancy affects 1 in 20 pregnancies. If the preeclampsia remains untreated, it can cause the mother to experience convulsions, coma, and can even die.
