Sergio’s medical expenses and home care

Hi, my Brother Sergio tragically went from a healthy normal 41yr old to no longer being able to care for himself. He went on vacation with his family to the Dominican Republic and returned on April 2nd and that was the last day he walked. He mysteriously lost all mobility and 4 days later was in the ICU fully septic with a severe Staph infection and UTI. He has now been in the hospital for 40 days. The sepsis wreaked havoc on all his organs as they were all shutting down when admitted.  He is now on a path to recovery but still has a long road ahead of him. He no longer has full control of his body and will have to learn to walk again. He unfortunately did not have any health insurance at the time and the bills are quickly piling up. When he does come home he will require a hospital bed, equipment, home care, physical therapy that will all be out of pocket. Not to mention loss of income and it’ll be a very long time before he can work again.

 

My brother always loved to have a good time, travel, and just be with his family. Cooking, music, and art are passions of his. Hopefully he will be able to partake in all of this again one day.
