Hello, my name is Kevin, and I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend and fellow jockey, Sergio Muños. To those who know him, Sergio is more than just a talented rider; he's a father, a brother, and one of the toughest and kindest souls you could ever meet.
On September 22nd, Sergio was involved with an incident that has led to a future of unknowns.
The Severe Injury and Ongoing Battle
Sergio suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in the incident. He was rushed to the hospital where he has remained in the neurological ICU and then the acute care unit, fighting with every ounce of his strength. His progress is measured in small, hard-won victories, and the doctors have told us that his recovery will be an incredibly long and challenging journey.
He is still in the hospital, surrounded by the incredible medical team and his loving family, as he works tirelessly in his early stages of recovery. The road ahead is uncertain and will require extensive, specialized rehabilitation for his injuries.
How You Can Help
As there are many unknowns with his future, this fundraiser was started to help with what is to come. As Sergio was the main source of income, bills have begun to amount and will continue to grow without Sergio in the saddle. We are humbly asking for your support to help his future recovery. Your donation will go directly towards:
· Overwhelming Medical Bills: Covering the immense costs of his hospital stay, neurological care, surgeries, and the upcoming long-term rehabilitation.
· Specialized Therapy: Funding for the crucial cognitive, physical, and speech therapies he will need for a severe head injury.
Your support is more than a donation; it's a message of hope.
Sergio has spent his life bringing excitement and dedication to the sport we all love. Now, it's our turn to show him that same dedication. Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and for helping us support our friend during the most difficult fight of his life.
With profound gratitude,
Kevin, on behalf of Sergio Muños and his entire family.
All the best,
