Sergio, my beautiful baby brother, the light in the Lopez family’s life and in his girlfriend Joanna’s, our angel, is no longer with us. He left us unexpectedly on February 4th of this year. This is beyond heartbreaking, a deep loss that is still unbelievable to us and always will be. Those of you who were blessed as we were to have known him know what a beautiful ray of sunshine he (still) is. His smile, and even simply his presence had the power to calm and bring peace. The anecdotes we have about him are endless. As the youngest in my family, he was the one who could always bring a smile to our faces. He was taken from us too soon. His girlfriend Joanna is expecting his daughter Julieta. It hurts us tremendously that he did not get to meet his baby girl, but we know that he will take great care of her from above. We were blessed to have had him even if it was only for 27 years, and we are blessed that he left Julieta for us—his precious gift that will help soothe this devastating grief that we will always carry with us.

He left us unexpectedly. He had so many plans to start a new life with Joanna and his baby girl Julieta. The night before he left us, he shared his excitement about his new life… he went to bed happy… and left us in his sleep, so we know that he did not suffer. As this was an unexpected tragedy, we ask that you help in any way that you can. We want to make sure that he has a beautiful service and that his baby girl is taken care of the way that he would have taken great care of her.
