The De La O Family suffered a tremendous loss on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Sergio
De La O Jr., passed away at the young age of 59. He battled several ailments over the past 10 years, however, we did not expect him to depart less than 10 months since losing our grandmother (his mom). He succumbed to cardiac arrest due to complications from diabetes.
Sergio (Tio Sho-sho to us) very much enjoyed working with children and gave of himself through his employment within several non-profits such as Extended Child Care Coalition of Sonoma County and the YMCA. Sergio embraced his work by putting the best interests of those children, his families, friends, and colleagues first. He had a big heart and was always willing to help others. He was someone who could light up a room and who you could count on to make you laugh.
We are reaching out today for support and help from our community of friends and family to finance the funeral services for our beloved uncle. This has truly been a hardship on our mother, grandfather, and aunt.
The goal is to raise $4,000, to help finance the funeral and burial costs so that he can be lain to rest next to our grandmother. If you can find it in your heart to make any contribution big or small, we would be ever so grateful. Any donation is tremendously appreciated.
The funeral service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Healdsburg, on Friday, February 2, 2024, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A mass will begin at 1 p.m., followed by interment at Oak Mound Cemetery in Healdsburg.
Our family thanks you for your generosity, and the time you took to read this message.
Lili, Angela, & Julian
