Sergeant to Strongman for St. Margaret’s

In May 2022, Lorin was diagnosed with a fairly rare type of breast cancer. Within the space of a few weeks, we were told it had spread, and was incurable. She has had numerous treatments already and shown unbelievable strength and determination, carrying on working and being a fantastic mum to our young daughter throughout-even quite literally during some incredibly taxing chemo and radiotherapy.
From the start, she was referred to St. Margaret’s Hospice, a charity providing a huge range of services and support for people and their families facing life-limiting illness.
We have been truly blown away, and grateful, for their support in what can be a very scary, and uncertain place-and they will continue to do what, and when they can, for as long as is necessary.
They really are fantastic.

In recognition of the amazing work they do, and also in recognition of the strength and determination Lorin has shown, I’m raising money for St. Margaret’s Hospice, by training for, and entering a ‘strongman’ competition, a new challenge for me. This will be on the 1st June ‘24, and injuries allowing, I will enter a second on the 27th July. Please help support this wonderful charity by donating-everything will go directly to St. Margaret’s and help provide support for patients and their families facing things that none of them want to.

*update 1:
wow, thank you to everyone who has already donated. For transparency-I’ve changed the target, as I set an arbitrary figure to start, as I’ve not done it before, and I don’t have any particular ‘presence’ on social media-and the original target was pretty much met within a couple of hours!
*update 2:
as above, new target reached in under 24hrs! Let’s keep going and raise as much as we can for this amazing charity. Remember, all of these donations go directly to St. Margaret’s, and pays for nurses, support therapists, and other care practitioners ❤️
*update 3
in the c.48hrs since launching this, a few people have shared with me their own personal experiences of St. Margaret’s….every single one of which has been full of praise and gratitude for their involvement in their/their loved ones’ own story
*update 4-
MASSIVE thanks to EVERYONE who has shared, donated, given advice and encouragement up until this point! Yes, I’ve moved the target again-hoping to get some more support as the event gets closer
*update 5-
I continue to be moved by the support and generosity everyone has shown. As I’ve alluded to before-there isn’t a monetary ‘goal’ as such, as the hospice’s running costs are ongoing, but I’ve changed the limit again to keep giving me-with the first comp now less than a month away-something to work towards

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
