Our Beloved Sergeant Boudreaux Needs Your Help for His Final Adventures
Our hearts are heavy as we share some difficult news about our sweet rescue dog, Sergeant Boudreaux. Recently, he was diagnosed with terminal transitional cell carcinoma of the prostate.
For those who don't know Sergeant Boudreaux's story, he came into our lives in March of 2019, a skinny pup who wasn't eating well. But then… tendies! Glorious tendies, courtesy of the wonderful staff at Great American Ranch! That simple act of kindness sparked his appetite and changed his life forever.
Sergeant Boudreaux is a testament to the power of rescue. He traveled all the way from California to Maryland thanks to the amazing network of R&T Loving Paws. (And yes, he had to correct his dad – his name isn't Sergeant Zack!)
Since finding his forever home with us, Sergeant Boudreaux has become quite the adventurer! From Auburn University to Pigeon Forge, the beaches to the mountains, he's been our constant, happy companion. We had dreams of more trips to Pigeon Forge, but sadly, those plans have changed.
The wonderful team at Brandt Veterinary Services delivered the news of his diagnosis. While we're heartbroken, Sergeant Boudreaux is still his joyful self, and we're determined to make the most of the time he has left. His prognosis is estimated to be around 4-7 months, and we want to fill those months with as much love, comfort, and adventure as possible.
To help us give Sergeant Boudreaux the best quality of life during this time, we've partnered with the compassionate "The Oncology Service" in Richmond, VA. His initial appointment cost us $2177.70, and his ongoing monthly care, including medication and testing, will be approximately $760.69.
Every donation received will go strictly towards Sergeant Boudreaux's medical bills and ongoing care. Should there be any funds remaining after we've honored his needs, we promise to donate the surplus to reputable working dog charities or rescue organizations, so other deserving animals can receive the help they need.
You can help Sergeant Boudreaux continue his journey by donating here.
We will also be sharing updates on his progress and adventures on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/share/1ALn9RMJzg/?mibextid=qi2Omg]
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support for our brave and happy boy, Sergeant Boudreaux. He may not have served in the military (he's a much-loved rescue!), but he's certainly a sergeant in our hearts.
With love and gratitude,
Cheryl & Jeremy Martin
