Serge Gauvin

Hi, my name is Tina and I’m fundraising for my brother Serge. A husband, an amazing father of 3, a son, a friend, and an uncle.

Three years ago his life changed forever. He was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer disease and needed a bone marrow transplant. Life got hard for him, dr appointments, weekly blood transfusions, no energy, still working crazy hours etc… However, he always tried to see the positive in any negative events.

Approximately six months ago he went to Halifax for his transplant. Everything went well, with just a few little minor setbacks.

I felt very grateful that we were all able to have an amazing Christmas together. Then a few days later, he started feeling very sick and was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. On January 17th he tells us he was going into an induced coma to allow his body to rest and heal, I was truly in disbelief. Nevertheless, Serge being the person he is, kept reassuring us not to worry and that was going to be ok.

I will never forget January 20th, the day he took a turn for the worst (on our mom's birthday) We were told to come to the hospital because he wasn’t going to make it…

And sometimes, against ALL odds, miracles happen!!!

Serge is no longer in a coma and is off the ventilator. Just got the tracheostomy procedure done. He is a fighter, has overcome the impossible and he is not giving up on us!! We could not be more hopeful!

Those of you who know my brother know he worked hard his whole life. Always so kind and generous to others. He deserves a break and not to stress about things he can’t control.

I have created this go fund page to help him financially. This will help him put his mind at ease and set peace of not worrying about anything but getting better.

I also would like to thank every one of you for your prayers and kind words. Your support means the world to us, and it never goes unnoticed. I keep telling him about all your words!
