My daughter Serenity will be attending Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, in April of 2026.
The deposit has already been made by her mother and me, and there is just the matter of the rest of the fee.
Serenity attends Sora School, an online private school for 6th-12th grade, where students learn through live classes and engaging projects with small class sizes and dedicated advisors. Serenity is in 8th grade. She has always been fascinated by science and space. So when the chance of going to Space Camp came up, going with her classmates, she was immediately intrigued with the idea.
Let’s Go to Space Camp! is the course Serenity will be taking at the end of her 8th-grade year, led by Kirstyn Moore.
Description below:
"In Let’s Go to Space Camp!, students will become junior astronauts and aerospace engineers.
Over 12 weeks, they’ll explore the laws of physics and space science to understand how objects move through space, how astronauts live and work on the ISS, and how engineers design the tech that gets us there. This experience will include the opportunity for a real-life, one-week adventure to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama! Students will take part in astronaut training simulations, design challenges, and interactive exhibits that bring space science and engineering to life. With a mix of hands-on experiments, collaborative problem-solving, and design thinking, students will tackle real-world challenges astronauts face. This expedition culminates in a final project in which students pitch their own space-ready invention, product, or experiment designed to survive the extremes of space."
Anything raised above the goal will be used for Serenity's spending money, transportation to and from Alabama, and Albert's hotel nearby in Huntsville while Serenity is in camp.
