Support for Serenity Rose Alvarez’s Battle with Cancer

My name is Carlos Alvarez, and I am writing this on behalf of my son, Carlos Alvarez Jr., and my daughter-in-law, Claudia De la Torre.

On June 23, 2025, our lives were forever changed. My precious 4-year-old granddaughter, Serenity Rose Alvarez, was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor, a rare form of kidney cancer. This has been a heartbreaking and overwhelming time for our entire family.

Serenity is currently receiving care where she is bravely fighting this disease. On June 26, 2025, she underwent major surgery to remove the tumor — a procedure that required removing her entire kidney. While the surgery was a critical step, her doctors have informed us that this is just the beginning of a long and difficult journey. Serenity will remain hospitalized for many more weeks as she continues treatment.
