Sereneys medicinal bills bc insurance sucks

Hi everyone! If you clicked this, you most likely know Serene or have seen her so present in my life. Serene was having horrible back pain and has been trying everything with her doctors to figure out why. She did all the steps while waiting for insurance to approve her MRI. Not only did it take a long time time to get an answer, but they ultimately denied the coverage. She paid out of pocket for the MRI, only to find out that she not only had a herniated disc, but it was so bad that she needed surgery asap! The following day, she lost feeling from the waist down and couldn’t walk. She went to the ER where they scheduled her for emergent surgery. Her pain is finally gone, but for 3 weeks she hasn’t been able to walk since and has been stuck in a hospital bed. Insurance AGAIN tried denying rehabilitation for her, but the doctors fought to get her into a facility.

It’s truly heartbreaking watching your best friend who is a young 32 year old woman who had a thriving life, now wheelchair bound. This will be a long process, but we hoping with time and PT, she will gain strength in her legs again to walk one day.
