Serena’s 1st Mission Trip to Africa

Hi it’s Serena! I’ve been extended the amazing opportunity to attend a missions trip to South Africa with Life Connection Ministries in May 2023! 

Life Connections Ministries does some phenomenal work in South Africa that I’ll get to be a part of.! They have drilled several wells to provide fresh water to the communities they serve, and erected community greenhouses that provide thousands of vegetable plants. LCM has also constructed classrooms for at-risk children and orphans. They are committed to making a difference, and deliver hope to those who may have lost it by sharing the love of Jesus.

 This week long trip includes tent crusades and street evangelism where people are loved on and prayed for, and given fresh bread and food parcels nightly. During the day the teams visit homes in the rural village to encourage, help and pray for families, and during nightly meetings, they have seen thousands of people walk for miles just to come hear the word of God. While there I’ll also have the opportunity to share my grief journey with others who has suffered loss, and hope to be able to extend the same comfort I have received from God. This trips’ theme is RESTORATION and my heart is leaping at the thought of sharing how the Lord has restored my broken heart!  I just recently became a Certified Grief Counselor and any chance I get to help others is an honor and a privilege!

Life Connection Ministries continues to partner with the local Department of Education to provide secondary education opportunities to help combat the sky rocketing unemployment among young adults in the rural communities. The ministry also builds libraries in local schools, and we will go over with tons of new books to add towards their literacy programs!

I would greatly appreciate if you could partner with me in my efforts to attend this missions trip. It’s from May 25- June 4th and the total cost is $2650 which includes airfare, all meals, transportation and lodging. My first payment is due in February.
