The Woolf family. Dad and Mom have been married for 13 years and have 3 children, ages 10, 8 and 6 that were placed with them, at birth, as foster children. They are all permanent family members now. Their 6 year old daughter, Serena, was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome just before the ago of two. That diagnosis was a life changer as she was already in stage 3 (out of 4) which currently does not have a cure. Retts is a progressive neuromuscular disorder where the child slowly slips away as their muscles lose the ability to work properly.

Serena was a joyful, peaceful little girl who loved her family. She loved to be with her brother and sister. Loved cuddling, laughing, smiling, music, being read to and especially being held and danced around the room. As she lost her ability to speak at an early age she was able to communicate through eye gaze and an eye gaze computer. She loved to socialize with others, mastered the eye roll, side eye and moving her eyebrows up and down to show her sassy side. Full of personality but in a body that was unable to fully express herself. Completely dependent on mom, dad and other caretakers for everything. Serena has had many health issues throughout her short life and was hospitalized three times in the past 5 months and was a warrior girl through it all.

Her lung and heart muscles gave out on February 7th, 2024 as she passed away peacefully in her sleep. The family is devastated but know she is in a better place. As mom has been unable to work for the last few months due to Serena's health, we are asking for assistance with Serena's burial/service costs and maybe some extra assistance with household bills.
