Sequoia's Emergency Vet Bills

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tamara, and I am trying to raise the remaining funds to help pay for our dog's emergency vet bills. We have exhausted all financial avenues available to us, and we had to swallow our pride when it came to making a Gofundme account. We were able to get a Carecredit loan for $4,000 and my fiance was able to cash out all of his vacation time. However, we are still short on funds. The low estimate on her bill is $6,115 and the high end is $7,704. The vet charges have changed drastically and increased since she was first admitted, but we want more than anything to bring our sweet girl home. If she had appeared to be in worse physical condition before heading to Portland, we would have probably made the hard decision of having her put to sleep, due to financial reasons. But she was still so full of life, and being her incredibly sweet self, tail wagging and excited. Everyone seemed so hopeful that it would be fixed with the original procedure, and they are super optimistic with how she is doing now.

Monday evening when my fiance got home from work, he took our two daughters out to plow our driveway with him, unfortunately, our young lab, Sequoia, who just turned one, three days ago, ended up running out in front of the plow truck, and was hit. He heard her yelp, got out of the vehicle, and carried her inside. She didn't have a mark on her that you could see, but she was limping, she then laid down, he breathing was slowly becoming more shallow, and she vomited up blood, but then seemed to be acting fine, wagging her tail, and staying calm. The next morning we brought her into the local vets, and used the last of our money for that walk-in appointment. They did xrays on her, and said she needed more medical attention than they were able to give her, so they called around, and the Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care animal hospital was the only place that could take her. She was diagnosed with Traumatic Pneumothorax. She has a small tear in one of her lungs, and it is allowing air into her chest cavity, and compressing her lungs. They were able to drain out fluids and air and she was able to breathe better, but they had to do that several times. They then said that she would need chest tubes inserted and an Pleur-Evac Chest Drainage System and Set-up. We are waiting to hear back from her vets at the moment. She is an amazing, sweet part of our family, and if anyone could help, we would be forever grateful, and will take all the prayers we can get for her. We have two daughters who are 5 and 6 and they are devastated by this. Any donations will strictly be used toward our sweet girl and her vet bills. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
