September's Healing Journey- Round 2

Mom came through her first surgery like a champ! Now she's got 2 more hurdles to clear. This week she starts 5 days of radiation at UCSF on the tumor in her head. Next week, she will have one of her kidneys removed which has a good size tumor that has been determined as an aggressive type of cancer. We anticipate a little longer recovery time for this one. So again, we ask for good thoughts and prayers, post surgery support from her friends in Southern Humboldt and donations to help with the expenses that her insurance doesn't cover. We are so very grateful for your love and support. ✨Mama Bird's been on a healing journey for a little over a year now. Last year she kicked breast cancer's butt and this year she has a few more hurdles to clear. On September 11th, she will undergo surgery and a couple post surgery procedures to follow. We welcome all prayers as she moves through these challenges with grace and ease.✨ ✨As most of you know, she is a woman of strength and endurance, with an unshakable will to persevere through just about anything. Knowing this can bring about an amazing level of confidence that she will make it through this and continue to offer her gifts, as a pillar of strength, a mentor, a healer, an artist, and an overall incredible human being.✨ ✨Her journey ahead begins on Tuesday when Paula, her youngest daughter, picks her up and brings her to Sonoma county where she will spend the night with her oldest daughter, Teray. On Wednesday I will pick her up and we will be heading to San Francisco... and of course, we will have flowers in our hair!✨ ✨On Thursday she has 4 pre-op appointments and in our spare time, we plan on going to the botanical gardens in Golden Gate Park and paint.‍✨ ✨Friday morning at 11:00am, (11:11) she goes in for surgery with a highly esteemed neuro-surgeon, who holds multiple degrees. He will  be performing a surgery that involves a biopsy on the tumor located at the base of her skull. If it's cancerous he will remove it and she will need to follow up with radiation treatments. If it's benign, the surgeon will move the tumor off the nerves and arteries which are being impinged. Ideally, this will bring relief to the pain she has been experiencing and there will be a speedy recovery. We are beyond grateful that she will be in the BEST hands and under the BEST care at UCSF.✨ ✨Post surgery, she will spend two nights in the hospital and 2-3 days recuperating in San Francisco. When we know that she in the clear of post surgery complications, we will journey home where she will continue her recovery. Within a week, she will need a PET scan to explore the next possible hurdle, a tumor that was recently discovered on her kidney. We can be certain she will face these hurdles courageously and gracefully, as she did last year.✨ ✨There is an amazing group of local community members coming together, to support her physically during her healing journey. If you would like to be a part of this group, please reach out to me and I will get you connected with the organizer.✨ ✨Friends and family from afar have asked how they can contribute financially. We deeply appreciate this kindness and generosity. For convenience and ease, we have chosen this platform for anyone who would like to support in this way.✨ ✨We are so very grateful for all of your support, financially, physically, and spiritually. I am confident she will get through these challenges and continue to bless us with her presence in this physical world.✨
