This post is just a quick one, I hope!
In the last couple of weeks, ive wanted to start a new challenge, coming at a rather convenient time. Marking the 5th year since becoming a member of the blue badge gang!
I threw some ideas around jokingly to a friend knowing who I have a particular fear of flying has decided to have a stag do aboard …… with this my very compulsive brain mentioned id happily ride rather than fly. This is the birth of said challenge. Sitting down without giving the location away and doing the maths, it’s come to light that the destination of the special weekend Is roughly 1400 miles away.
So, on the 1st of August, this challenge will be under way!
Taking a huge amount of inspiration from my motley band of brother who took part in a bike ride in my early recovery I have decided thar old lucky legs by here will try and complete this distance. It will roughly take 51 days and averaging the distance of a marathon every day. Sorry to say it will be done in a gym on an exercise bike (no stabilisers needed) and a hell of a lot safer. Thus, challenging myself to be able to keep continuity of distance riding which I’m yet to do within my recovery,
So, this being a challenge ive decided I’m going to try and raise money for a charity to make me even more accountable. I’m not expecting everyone to jump on board and donate mad sums of money it’s just another goal to aim for. Bellow will be a link for a just giving page. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read and I’ll be sure to post up daily achievements.
