Hi everyone,
Due to these heartbreaking circumstances, we are raising funds for our beloved brother ,Phourathakesone Littana, known to all of us as “Lon.”
On January 27, 2026, Lon was walking to a nearby store in Bloomington, Minnesota, when he was unexpectedly detained by ICE. He was informed that he would be deported to his home country of Laos, a place he has not lived in since childhood. He is currently being held at the El Paso, Texas detention center, where conditions are extremely difficult and unsafe—especially for someone with serious medical needs.
Lon was born in Vientiane, Laos, in 1972. In 1980, after the war, his family was sponsored to come to the United States by an American family. They were deeply grateful for the opportunity to build a life here. America has been Lon’s home for over 45 years.
In his early twenties, Lon was diagnosed with schizophrenia, a condition that requires daily, consistent medication. Like many young people facing mental illness without proper support, he fell in with the wrong crowd and made a mistake that resulted in a 10-year sentence, which he fully served. That chapter ended long ago.
Lon has now been home and law-abiding for over 20 years, living a peaceful life surrounded by his loving and supportive family. He is a gentle, kind soul who deeply loves his family and brings warmth to everyone who knows him.
We are raising funds to help ensure Lon’s basic survival and stability, including:
• Safe and permanent housing
• Ongoing treatment and medication for schizophrenia
• Medication for high blood pressure and high cholesterol
• Essential living expenses during this incredibly uncertain time
Any donation—no matter the amount—will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please consider sharing this fundraiser to help spread the word.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers. Our family is deeply grateful.
