Sentinel: la tecnologia che protegge chi ami

Ciao, sono Sara Corona e questa è la mia storia.

Da anni mi occupo di persone: come professionista nelle Risorse Umane ho avuto il privilegio di ascoltare centinaia di storie, ma la più importante resta quella che porto dentro casa mia.

Mio padre è disabile e mia madre ha vissuto la sua vita da caregiver invisibile, sempre allerta, sempre pronta a intervenire. Ho vissuto per anni con la sensazione costante che qualcosa potesse andare storto da un momento all’altro: una caduta, un malore, un bisogno urgente senza che nessuno potesse accorgersene in tempo.

Da questa esperienza personale, dal desiderio di proteggerli, semplificare la loro vita e garantire loro sicurezza senza invaderne l’intimità, è nata Value e la linea Sentinel.

Perché nasce Sentinel

La prima linea che voglio realizzare si chiama Sentinel. È un sistema di sicurezza intelligente per ambienti domestici, pensato in particolare per chi vive da solo, per le famiglie con anziani o persone fragili, per i caregiver come mia madre.

Sentinel utilizza sensori avanzati e visione artificiale per rilevare in tempo reale anomalie come cadute, movimenti inconsueti o situazioni di rischio. È non invasivo, discreto, collegabile a dispositivi mobili e pronto ad avvisare immediatamente chi può intervenire.

Perché raccolgo fondi

Sto raccogliendo fondi per creare l’MVP (Minimum Viable Product) di Domus Sentinel: un prototipo funzionante che ci permetta di testare le funzionalità principali sul campo e raccogliere feedback da chi ne ha realmente bisogno.

I fondi serviranno a finanziare:

Sviluppo hardware e software del sistema Sentinel;

Ricerca e design per rendere l’esperienza utente semplice e intuitiva;

Primo programma di test in contesti domestici reali;

Tutela legale e avvio del processo di registrazione.

Perché è importante per me

Perché ho vissuto sulla mia pelle cosa significa avere paura di non essere lì in tempo. Perché credo che la tecnologia debba smettere di essere un lusso o un gadget e diventare uno strumento di cura.

Sentinel è il mio primo passo per costruire un mondo più sicuro, più dignitoso e più umano.

Hi, I'm Sara Corona and this is my story.

For years, I've been working with people: as a Human Resources professional, I’ve had the privilege of listening to hundreds of life stories—but the most important one is the one that comes from my own home.

My father is disabled, and my mother has spent her life as an invisible caregiver—always alert, always ready to step in. For years, I lived with the constant fear that something might go wrong at any moment: a fall, a sudden illness, an urgent need with no one there to notice in time.

From this personal experience—this desire to protect them, simplify their lives, and guarantee their safety without invading their privacy—Value and the Sentinel product line were born.

Why Sentinel was created

The first product line I want to develop is called Sentinel. It’s a smart home safety system, designed especially for people who live alone, families with elderly or vulnerable members, and caregivers like my mother.

Sentinel uses advanced sensors and artificial vision to detect in real time any anomalies such as falls, unusual movements, or risky situations. It’s non-invasive, discreet, mobile-connected, and ready to instantly notify those who can help.

Why I’m raising funds

I'm raising funds to build the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) of Domus Sentinel—a working prototype that will allow us to test its core functions in real environments and gather feedback from those who truly need it.

The funds will be used to support:

Hardware and software development for the Sentinel system

Research and design to make the user experience simple and intuitive

A first pilot test in real households

Legal protection and the initial registration process

Why this matters to me

Because I know what it feels like to be afraid of not being there in time. Because I believe that technology should stop being a luxury or a gadget and start becoming a tool for care.

Sentinel is my first step toward building a safer, more dignified, more human world.
