Sensory Room for Local School

My name is Brandan, Life Scout with Troop 3097.  I was diagnosed with being on the autism spectrum at a very young age of 2.  Some of my sensory issues were trouble with sounds, overstimulation and stimming.  Through my school years, I have had to manage my sensory issues by taking walks, using stress tools, listening to audiobooks on my iPod during lunch because the sound in the cafeteria were to overwhelming. 

I am asking for a donation to benefit my Boy Scout Eagle project.  I am designing and installing a SENSORY ROOM in my school to benefit students with sensory needs for generations to come.  Why a sensory room?  A sensory room is designed to help kids with sensory needs to reduce over stimulation and provide a visual, auditory and tactical experience.  Not having the proper sensory tools available can cause unfavorable behaviors and affect their opportunity to learn.  This project is very important to me because I am wishing I had this type of equipment when I was a kid and I would like to see kids in the future have the experience I wished I had had.  By having a sensory room in our school, kids are more likely to have a successful educational career and social experience.
