Since 2007, the Traditions projects has been an incredibly important aspect of the Senior Skull's interactions with UMaine. These projects are aimed to increase ampus awareness of UMaine's rich history and varied traditions.
Many campus buildings, landmarks, and spaces are named after notable Skullumni. Our goal is to mark each of these buildings and roooms with plaques that recognize these UMaine alumni's connections with the Senior Skulls.
After months of prep work we are moving into our fundraising stage. All of our work thus far is listed below:
-Contacted dozens of plaque designers in Maine
-Discovered Paradise Awards
-Acquired 3D rendering as well as price estimate from -Paradise Awards
-Request brought up in following CPC monthly meeting
-CPC approves interior permitting, then forwarded to President Hunter
-President Hunter approved request
We are looking to place 15 plaques around different buildings, some examples are listed below:
Skull Raymond H. Fogler Library
Skull Donald P. Corbett (Business)
Skull Clarence Bennett (Physics)
Skull Mark Shibles (Education)
Any contribution would greatly help our efforts.
