Hello! I'm a low-income single senior living in Independence, MO.
Last week, my main water supply line (from city supply to my house) broke, and it is leaking a lot of water into my yard. The city is requiring me to have this replaced, and the cost is close to 3/4 of my annual income. I don't have the resources to get this done; I have three quotes in the $6,000 to $8,000 range; (that's an open-ended amount; may not include excavation or the 8 feet that actually connects to the main city line).
At some point soon, the water is going to be turned off to my house.
I had to replace a 40 year old furnace earlier this year, and that took what little savings I had. Currently unemployed, but looking for a job and taking classes to try to better my situation, but realistically, the outlook for someone nearing 70 isn't great.
I'm really hoping some kind folks can help me fund this. Anything you can contribute will help! Furthermore, if you would be so kind as to share this on your social media I would be really thankful.
