Seniors Struggle to Survive Winter in Trailer

Donation protected
Hello I'm Stephanie, my husband is Merrill, we live in PEI, Canada. Being seniors, hubby is 67 now,  we've had a dream of building our own little house. Last year, somewhere around July we began continuing building it on our land, then we had to move from the rental we were in as the foundation was so rotten it was collapsing under our feet, we really needed to get our house finished to the point of 'move in' before the winter set in. First thing I applied for Seniors Housing; and were denied. We purchased a 30 year old, uninsulated summer travel trailer  and got it onto our land to live in through the summer/autumn while continuing to build our house, with no intention of living it in through   winter but we were unable to make the progress we needed on the house to move in before winter. Consequentially, we are forced to stay in the travel trailer through the cold winter months.

Now we find ourselves in a situation we never expected. Due to a financial setback that hit us so hard that our savings was wiped out completely, we are limping by, trying to get the house finished to the point we can move in even though it won’t be completely finished. At least it has a wood stove to will keep us warm once we are able finish getting the drywall covering the walls!

Here is the bare minimum of what we need to get the house livable (though not fully finished):

Electrician Expenses - $1,522 / Finishing the electrical  $1,500
**************************************************************************
House Plumbing - $2,500    Still need to find a Professional Plumber
**************************************************************************
Septic - $5,500  Already paid $500 down payment
**************************************************************************
Installation of a Kitchen: cabinets, sink, countertop $2,000  est.
Furniture:  Bed, sofa, coffee table, side tables  $2,000  est.

Everything else we already have has been purchased on Kijiji or bought from the Restore in Charlottetown.

Although we are doing everything ourselves, we can't finish our house on our own.  Last year I raised $621.30 on Facebook Marketplace to raise some urgently needed funds to continue our build. This bought us all the supplies for the Electrical installation.  One late Autumn morning we woke to frozen water pipes and had no water in the trailer until the sun came out and the day got warm enough to thaw them.

Now I find myself having to do something I never expected I'd need to do, ever!  : ask for help. Please, if you can help us just a little bit, it would be so greatly appreciated. Every dollar gets us a little closer to our goal!

If you know someone who has items to donate or know where to get a deal on any of these items or a tradesman who could donate his time, please contact me! Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
