Help Seniors' Climate Witness Build on Our Ottawa Actions!
~ We're not done ~
In September 2026, seniors, people of faith, and allies travelled from across Canada to Ottawa as part of Seniors' Climate Witness, calling on the federal government to protect the people, places, and living beings we love—not fund new fossil fuel pipelines.
Travelling through 25 communities, we collected hundreds of photos and stories of climate impacts, attracted national media attention, and engaged in peaceful nonviolent actions on Parliament Hill, where 17 seniors were arrested.
Now we're building on that momentum!
This fall, Seniors' Climate Witness is organizing regional actions across Canada to keep up the pressure on the federal government. In spring 2027, we plan to return to Ottawa with a renewed national caravan and further nonviolent actions to press for meaningful climate action.
We continue to call on the Government of Canada to:
- Reject public funding and support for new fossil fuel pipelines and related infrastructure.
- Accelerate the transition to a clean, affordable and just energy future, investing in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.
- Respect the rights of Indigenous Peoples and uphold Canada's commitments to reconciliation, including ensuring that Indigenous rights and leadership are central to decisions affecting the lands and waters.
Your donation will help us sustain and expand this movement by supporting seniors to travel to Ottawa, covering legal expenses, providing nonviolent action training, supporting Indigenous engagement, producing action materials, and funding outreach, communications, social media, and other organizing costs.
Together, we can demonstrate the power of seniors standing up for the people, places, and living beings we love—and for a safe, livable future for all.
