Hi everyone! I have been struggling to make ends meet for my last year at The Boston Conservatory as a musical theater major. I have done everything that I could do to try and make ends meet. I have worked as a Resident Assistant, an Orientation Leader, a Student Ambassador, and met with any faculty member I can in regards to earning more money. As one of the few people of color and immigrants at this institution, I have consistently worked hard to be seen as an equal amongst the majority and hope to continue shaping a viewer's perspective on the types of people that we are able to see in media, both in theatre and on the screen. I believe in the progressive nature of what theatre can be and hope to leave this institution ready to approach theatre in a holistic way, focusing on making sure that historically silenced voices are both heard and validated. After (hopefully) graduating college, I will be working towards my dream of being on Broadway. As crazy and as difficult as that may sound, I know that this dream is not impossible with the support of others and the sheer determination of accomplishing such a goal. This is not an easy request to make, as I would never try to burden anyone else, however, I have exhausted my options and have nowhere else to turn to. This is my last and final year here and I would love nothing more than to graduate with my fellow peers. I have worked so hard to give back to this community and cannot bare the thought of leaving it. I would never ask for anything like this unless it was an emergency, thank you for even getting this far in reading this. Please don't feel any pressure to donate, but if you are able to- it would mean so so much to me and my family. Thank you so much!!
