Senior With 4th Stage Cancer, Can't Do It Alone
Donation protected
I was a conscientious, working, healthy adult when in December last year I was diagnosed with lung cancer. In February of this year I received the prognosis of Stage 4 Lung Cancer. I am presently going for radiation treatments and will be starting chemotherapy in the near future. I have severely laboured breathing on an ongoing basis. It is my heartfelt wish and have been advised that the treatments will likely help my symptoms and life expectancy.
I had hoped to receive some funding from two Canadian organizations that assist those with cancer. I, unfortunately, do not meet their criteria. I have no work income as I stopped working last November. Because I am already on CPP, I’m not eligible for any COVID relief. There is a small COVID benefit that I will be receiving for 3 months of $300. My monthly income only covers my rent.
I need more help than what the government is giving me. These are the practical things I need help paying for: groceries, my cat's care, phone and hydro bills, vitamins, garden beds and home insurance.
I would be most grateful for any assistance that you can offer.
