What is Senior Survivor?
Senior Survivor is an event put on each year by West Ottawa High School. 12 seniors are picked to spend a week running around the school selling whatever they can and competing after school to raise the most amount of money. 2 survivors are eliminated at the end of each day until there are just 4 left where the winner will be decided on Friday (April 24).
Where is the money for?
All the money raised by the seniors then goes to WINWO (When In Need West Ottawa). The funds from this charity help to benefit and support students throughout West Ottawa Public Schools. This has been a long-running charity from West Ottawa that spans from buying school supplies for students all the way up to supporting our annual Christmas toy drive after being impacted by Covid-19.
My Goals and my involvement:
What originally started with me asking my teacher how I would donate money to the charity and offering up a competitive game for the event, turned into me getting chose to compete. Overall, I really like what this charity does and I think giving back to your community is something that should be done whenever possible. I have put together quite the game plan to allow me to make it to day 5 of Senior Survivor along with some pretty high goals.
My biggest goal for this event is to raise $10,000! It is quite high compared to previous years, but setting a normal goal wouldn't give me anything to work towards. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all those who have taken the time to read this and support me in this year's Senior Survivor. #TheGalliRally
