Senior Stray Needs Help To Survive
Donation protected

On the morning of November 15, as I was on my daily dog walk, my chihuahua started crying and pulled me towards a cat in the bush. As I got closer and started to talk to the kitty, he began crying and meowing non-stop. He was clearly extremely underweight, missing fur and scabbed, and had a foul smell coming from his mouth. After dropping my dogs back off at home, I drove back to the location with wet food and water, fed him (he devoured it), and then transported him to the vet. I have been an independent rescuer over the past years, helping whoever I can. After recently rescuing a litter of kittens, I am in no financial position to take on any more animals; however, I could not leave this guy on the street as he cried to me for help.
After a vet examination, he was determined to be a male, senior cat, 7-14 years old. He was clear of FELV but diagnosed with hookworms, anemia from a blood parasite due to fleas, and rotting teeth (which explains being skin and bones). My vet is amazing and is graciously giving me 30% off for helping this stray, and the total comes to $810.07. I have charged that amount to my care credit card and am hoping to gain some support from fellow animal lovers. He will be kept at the vet for four days to treat the parasites and pull his teeth. If anyone feels moved and called to help me save a street life, it would be greatly appreciated.
