Paws for a Cause: Support Our Rescue Mission

Hi, my name is Jade Mejia-Troche. I am a senior at The Met High School, located in Providence, Rhode Island, and I’m very interested in pursuing my interest in Veterinary Medicine in the future. A little background about my school is that the Met High School is a career technical school, where our main focus is gaining experience in the real world with internships that connect to our career interests/passions.

All seniors are required to complete a Senior Thesis Project (STP) to meet graduation requirements. My STP idea is collaborating with local animal shelters/rescues to host adoption events. These events will help with shelter overcrowding and the stray cat and dog population. While helping out the stray animal community, I also wanted to give back to nonprofits who make these miracles happen for the stray animals in need. I will be fundraising money for Rhode Home Rescue, an animal rescue located in Warwick, RI. All the funds will be use to buy basic animal necessities like stainless steel dog bowls, wet/dry food, blankets and beds. The rest of the fund will be given to Rhode Home Rescue to be put towards their medical bills for vaccinations and surgeries.
