
AYDT Senior Division Recital Fund

Many of you may know that we had the misfortune of having contracts with 3 different theaters fall through this semester before finally winding up at Symphony Space, causing us to go over budget by over ten thousand dollars for our recital. When we originally billed parents for the recital fee, it was based on a budget of $19,040.00.
Because we lost the original space and had to move to a different venue with higher fees, we wound up spending a total of $29,606.12 on the performance. In ordinary times these expenses are made up by ticket sales, however since each student was just charged a flat fee and there were no additional ticket sales, we are in the red by $10,566.00.
If anyone would like to contribute to help bridge that gap, we have set up a Go Fund Me and would be very appreciative. Again, we realize that times are tough and that many people do not have this in their means at the moment. We don’t expect to collect ten thousand dollars, but every bit helps. For clarity, an itemized list of our Senior recital expenses is copied below.
Theater rental: $6,000.00
Lighting rental: $4208.22
Sound rental: $1010.40
Videography: $6500.00
Crew Labor: $5157.50
AYDT staff: $6480.00
Floor rental: $250.00
TOTAL $29,606.12
For anyone who is able to contribute to this fund, we thank you very much. For those who are unable to, we thank you for being part of our dance family and helping us to survive these difficult times through your tuition fees. It is heartbreaking to see the number of businesses large and small which have not been able to survive this crisis, and we are thankful to each of you for being the reason that we are here today.
