Hello, my name is Luna. I’m 14-and-a-half years old, with big green eyes and a quiet heart. I’m not one to make a fuss, but I’ve been passed around more times than most cats my age.
I don’t remember my first home very well. I was surrendered once, adopted again, then surrendered a second time. Someone else took me in, but they gave up too only a month later. Each time I thought I’d found my forever, I was packed up and let go. I tried my best to be lovable. I didn’t understand why I kept being returned.
I have something called Megacolon. It makes it hard for my body to work the way it should, and it’s painful sometimes. I don’t complain, I just curl up somewhere quiet, hoping someone will notice I’m not okay. But not everyone had the patience to care for me the way I needed.
That’s when I arrived at a cat café. It was nice, but loud. A lot of people walked past me. Some pet me. None stayed…until Rebecca.
She saw something in me. She came to meet me, and for the first time in a long while I felt seen. She didn’t flinch when they told her about my condition. She listened. She understood. When she took me home, I knew this was the place I could exhale.
Rebecca feeds me special meals. She gives me IV treatments at home. She massages my tummy, talks to me gently, and makes sure my world stays calm. She chose me, even when others didn’t. And in March, she made it official: I’m hers forever!
I’m still struggling. My body doesn’t always cooperate, and the vet visits are becoming more frequent. I’m tired. But I’m loved and I want to stay here, in my quiet home, where I finally feel safe.
Unfortunately I did not qualify for health insurance, and my human can only provide so much. If you can help us with my medical bills, I’d be forever grateful. Every little bit means less stress for my human and more peaceful naps for me. I may not have nine lives left, but I finally have a safe comfortable place I call home.
With soft paws and a hopeful heart, Luna
