A message from Tina Wilken's, Tim's sister, and the rest of their family:
I am Tim's sister Tina.
On behalf of my family and myself I wish to first thank each and everyone of you for your kind thoughts, words, and support in this difficult time. We would never thought of this happening. Tim was always such a kind sweet person and would selflessly help others, even if it meant going out of his way to do so. He had such a kind heart. He never held back on saying things like it is, he lived his life the way he wanted to. I will always respect him for that.
His life has been short but he has touched so many people. He will be so deeply missed and loved. Thank you again for all the support. It means so much to us to know he had such wonderful people in his life.

Hi All.
As you all now know, Tim Lindenschmidt unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, November 3rd after falling ill with pneumonia.
Repatriation of his remains, funeral expenses, and generally getting his affairs in order will be at considerable cost, especially with the international nature of this tragic event.
We are raising funds for his family in Canada, to help one member of his family travel to Japan to take care of arrangements following his passing. All funds will be going directly to Tim's family, and will not be passing through any intermediaries.
Tim had friends from all over the globe. His eleven years of teaching in Japan were motivated with a passion few of us have. His broad online presence didn’t end online; he often corresponded with his friends with postcards, just because he enjoyed writing.
Tim had many hobbies and projects, two of which we've linked below:
Photography
- https://www.flickr.com/photos/mullenkedheim/
Tree Blog - to photograph all the giant trees in Tochigi
- http://life.enhasa.org/the-giant-trees-of-tochigi-project/
Thank you so much for any assistance you can give - any funds raised will ensure that Tim’s memory will be honored with the dignity that he deserves.
