Help Nick Get to the DNC in Philly
My name is Nick Langley and I am honored and excited to have been selected to serve as a member of the Credentials Committee for Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia this July. Unfortunately, this honor also comes with expenses such as travel and hotel accomodations that a graduate student (or at least this one) simply cannot afford.
Those of you who know me well know that while I have always enjoyed engaging in political debate, it was not until the past year that I became actively engaged in the political process. Bernie Sanders' message of getting money out of politics and creating a government that represents the will of the people spoke to me so much so that I not only volunteered for the campaign but even created a new student organization at Georgia State University: Panthers for Bernie. As a part of our efforts, we registered over 200 new student voters and encouraged political discussion and activism on campus.
Just as we intend to continue our work on campus at GSU, I am dedicated to continuing the fight for racial, enviornmental, and economic justice at the convention in Philadelphia. Any donation that you can provide, no matter how small, would be YUGE in helping me do just that. While I plan to cut costs by carpooling and sharing a room with others, the trip will still be costly as we are required to stay in a Hilton Hotel (where rooms are $400 per night) and I have to arrive early (and therefore stay more nights) to participate in committee meetings.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit this page (and for reading this far). With your help, I will do everything in my power to secure Bernie the nomination while also fighting for a progressive Democratic Party platform and a more democratic primary process in future elections.
