Help send Miranda to ABT in NYC

Hi! I am a junior in high school and participate in a Pre-Professional Dance Program at Keshet Dance Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I auditioned for and was accepted into the renown American Ballet Theatre’s Collegiate Summer Intensive located in New York City from June 5 to June 23, 2017, and I need your help getting there.
This intensive is for leading dancers aged 17-24 pursuing higher education and advanced training in repertory, pointe work, partnering, and modern dance. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to collaborate and learn from world-class American Ballet Theatre’s instructors. It will also allow me to meet other top dancers from around our nation, London, Paris, and Italy. More importantly, it will permit me to experience a different culture of dance in NYC on Broadway and bring it back to New Mexico. I have loved ballet since I was two years old. My mom signed me up when I was three and I have been dancing ever since. Anything you can give will benefit my dance for years to come. This will allow me to train with the best and bring new knowledge back with me to my community of dance.
I have strong integrity and work diligently in all aspects of my life. I maintain a 3.8/4.0 GPA in high school, I am enrolled in all Advance Placement courses, practice dance 25 plus hours a week, and I participate in a work-study program at Keshet to help finance my dancing. Keshet also offers me a scholarship, so I can even dance at all—in return, I volunteer when I am able. In my pre-professional program, my training consists of classical ballet, hip-hop, modern and jazz. The variety of my dance skill is unique, considering that most dancers do not have the opportunity to be highly trained in all areas of dance—I am extremely dedicated and am fortunate to have family and community support. Important to my dance studio is giving back, so I also volunteer at my studio as an assistant teacher, helping younger dancers pursue their aspirations in dance. I help raise money for Keshet, so other students may have scholarships to participate in community classes or the pre-professional dance program. The dance community I surround myself with here in Albuquerque is phenomenal, and I hope to take what I have learned to NYC and what I learn in NYC back to Albuquerque. Please help me make this dream become a reality.
Since I come from a single income home—my mom is a public school teacher and is the primary caretaker of our family—I am seeking financial help. I anticipate this opportunity to cost $4,000.00. I am seeking financial aide to help access the potential to get my talents into the world of dance, to represent my community and my state by attending ABT’s Collegiate Summer Intensive. This will help me achieve my aspirations in becoming a principal ballerina—giving the art of dance to the world.
