Liquid Jungle is a brass quintet comprised of students from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. We formed this past September to advocate the creation of new music for brass quintet. Since then, we have premiered four new pieces by student composers and are currently in the process of recording them for an album which will be released soon.

We have worked with members of Decoda, an NYC-based chamber music collective, to discover new ways to make present classical music to ensure a more meaningful experience for a wider variety of audience members. We have also been coached by members of the world-famous ensemble Mnozil Brass. Liquid Jungle has performed in a wide variety of settings, ranging from a convocation and several student recitals at Lawrence to the Riverview Gardens community center in Appleton and Karner Blue Education Center in Blaine, Minnesota. The quintet will present a recital featuring several student compositions this coming June at The Draw in Appleton.

This summer, we hope to take our music-making to the next level by attending the Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar at Tufts University near Boston, Massachusetts. We have been coached for the past eight months by ABQ trombonist and Lawrence faculty member Tim Albright, and we are so excited by the opportunity to learn more about brass-playing as well as what it means to function as professional musicians in today's society.

We have come up with most of the funding necessary to make it out to the seminar, thanks in part to the Senior Experience Fund, but we could use a little more help! Any donations are greatly appreciated!
