Hi there! Thanks for stopping by, this GoFundMe fundraiser is ultimately for God. He called, and I said yes!
I am a normal, young lady born in the Big Apple and raised in the Big Easy. After having a beautiful conversion during Lent 2014, while in my second year of college at LSU, God became a very important person to me. I went on a quest to know His will for my life because I knew with all my heart that God had a beautiful, radical, and fun plan in mind. I cared to know what state of life, either married or religious life, He had designed for me from the beginning.
My vocational discernment has been a thrilling, divine adventure, with butterflies and mosquitoes, with roses and thorns, with joys and crosses. After about 3 years of discerning the religious life, the Lord finally made His call loud and clear mid-March 2017. Actually, it wasn’t loud at all, I didn’t audibly hear anything! God whispered to me, the call was subtle, but so real. How God called me to the religious life is a mystery, because He is a mystery. He gradually and gently wooed my heart. Basically, He said, “come and see”, and I said, “okay!”
I’ve tasted and seen the goodness and beauty of the religious life and desire that it be part of my journey to heaven. I want all of it – the crosses and the joys! In discerning, I concluded that religious life is the best way for me to praise, reverence, and serve the God who LOVES me so, so much. Ultimately, I don’t just want to be a sister, I want to be a saint! Becoming a saint is better than becoming a sister. I want to become the everyday-saint God is calling me to be – the saint that is just me. My dream is to become the woman of His dreams for all eternity! I think that I can become the best version of myself, the most loving and happiest me, as a religious sister. Through my time in discernment, I perceive that our Lord is inviting me to enter the Institute Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara (SSVM), Religious Family of the Incarnate Word, and I am so elated and incredibly grateful to walk towards eternity with such a beautiful, fun family. My vocation fits just like the glass slipper fits princess Cinderella, uniquely and perfectly!
I invite you to join my journey to heaven in supporting me through prayer (if you don’t pray, that’s okay, just send me some good vibes, haha), and monetary donation to pay off my college debt. The fundraising timeframe is short because my entrance date has been set for May 31st, 2017. Although this may seem like a huge mountain, or even impossible, for some, to me it is just another leap of faith I confidently dare to take. “For nothing will be impossible for God.” I believe in a God of miracles!
