Over the last years we've done a lot of good for Ukraine. Together we have supported civilians, students and parents, people struggling to defend Ukraine's independence, individuals, and community volunteers supporting those at the front. At this time, as Russia relentlessly bombs hospitals, apartment buildings, schools, and public transport Ukraine bravely fights on to preserve their freedom and independence. Ukraine has been whipsawed by the weird and suspiciously weak leadership of the USA and yet Ukraine has managed to put Russia on the defensive as Ukraine goes after the oil and gas infrastructure that funds Russia's war chest. Ukraine is winning this war. Ukraine will never surrender. Ukraine will win this war and Ukraine will be free.
In the past we sent a lot of tools and supplies to support the community volunteer groups working. At Christmas time this year with the civilian people we support enduring many hours without heat or electricity we are sending comfort stuff. Candles, batteries, flashlights, Sterno, solar powered batteries, AA batteries, fleece lined shirts, socks, hoodies, socks, socks :), 3-D printing material, sweatshirts, lots of coffee, children's books with the help of Left Bank Books, coloring books and crayons, many books for children and young teens. Lots of tea, lots of candy and snacks. And a lot of coffee! Plus some warm pajamas. Stuff to make people feel good, light their way, and comfort them a little. What we are doing is telling these people: you are not alone. We support you. This means the world to them.
We ship to two different groups: a community volunteer: Hannah, in Kamyanets-Podilsky in the far west of Ukraine and a schoolteacher: Liudmila at Bucha near Kiev. They share and disperse to the people who need our supplies.
Due to the late hours we have been shipping but still have more to go. We purchased almost everything already out of pocket so I'm hoping to get reimbursed by this fund raiser. :) We’re just waiting for some boxes to come back and then the last boxes will go. It takes about 3 weeks to get to Ukraine these days. This GoFundMe is only for 2500.00 and it's really meant as a holiday support more than anything.
All funds raised go directly to my bank account. All funds raised and more are spent on the stuff listed here. Hoodies, books, crayons, coloring pencils, candy, coffee, tea, jams, socks, candles, flashlights, solar chargers, and more. All of it is comfort stuff for civilians who are mostly women and children and all of the funds, and more, goes to buy this stuff and the shipping costs. Thank you for your support. If you have any questions please write me Mike Hurley here or rreach out in Belfast. Thank you. Slava Ukraine.
