Send top Chicago student inventors to Nationals!

FROM NOW UNTIL WEDNESDAY, MAY 4TH...
Chicago Innovation is raising funds to send the Chicago Student Invention Convention's top K-8th grade student inventors to compete at the 2022 US National Student Invention Convention!

These advancing students and their families are invited to spend three days in Dearborn, Michigan, where they will compete, meet other student inventors from across the US, and explore The Henry Ford’s 250 acres of interactive exhibits that chronicle and celebrate the power of innovation.

This year's student finalists will be selected at our April 30th judging event and must register and pay all nationals fees by Friday, May 12th. The minimum cost to attend is about $1000 per student inventor. This covers the cost of their registration, one parent/guardian registration, most meals, and the cost of the 3-night hotel stay in Dearborn, Michigan.

How You Can Help:
  • Donate what you can to support these young inventors and their families on their path to US Nationals!
  • Share this page with your personal and professional networks!
  • Individuals or companies who are willing to donate $1000 will have a scholarship named after them.  All named-scholarships will be announced at our regional showcase and awards ceremony at the Illinois Institute of Technology on May 21st.

About the Program:
  • The Chicago Student Invention Convention program supports Chicago educators in the mission to inspire and enable youth to become problem solvers in STEM and entrepreneurship.
  • Our free curriculum empowers students from under-served communities to choose problems in their own lives and supports them in the iterative process of solving those problems through design thinking and invention.
  • The program culminates in the city's largest student-led invention prototype competition, followed by the chance to compete against the best young inventors from around the United States and globally.
