Hello! My name is Samuel Biggs and I am 15 years old and currently attend Canyon High School in Anaheim. This page was created to assist with my opportunity to study and pursue my future in the field of Medicine and Health. I was personally selected and nominated out of 5 students from my entire high school to attend the invite only National Youth Leadership Forum, for Medicine and Health Care. A little back story on this is, my Physiology Teacher, Mr Derham, took the time and noticed my desire, academics, and ability to succeed and chose me! Out of 5 people from my school from any grade level, he nominated me! This program is an educational experience created to specifically prepare highly motivated high school students for their future professional career. This once in a lifetime opportunity is an 8 day program that I will stay on campus all 8 days with other academically strong students at UCLA and will receive strong support from Educators and Members of the medical community. (This program is only offered at 7 other University's in the US, so I can travel by car to UCLA). The Directors and Advisors maintain a low student to staff ratio to ensure my success in this program. This will open many pathways for my future and offers guidance to prestige University's and assistance on what grants and scholarships are available to me while I start my educational journey and along the way.
