Sending Matt (Uncle Slick) Williams Home

Unapologetic. Magnetic. Loyal.

Those are just a few words that sum up our brother, son, uncle and dear friend, Matthew Williams. Words can’t properly sum up what his life meant to us, and furthermore the city of Lansing, but what we can say - is that he will be missed daily by those who knew and loved him. We also know, he would give us the shirt off his back if we asked him, and like he would say time and time again, “no air time” - meaning, without question.

Matthew passed away, unexpectedly, Monday, January 30th early in the morning leaving behind too many loved ones to count, most especially the largest part of his heart - his daughter Mattea.

We are humbly asking for your financial support for our remaining funeral expenses which will take care of Matt's day-of services and lay him to rest. As a family, we have put together our resources to send him home, this is the remaining amount needed to complete all services rendered by the funeral home. Without a doubt, we know Matt would move mountains for the ones he loved, this is our chance to repay him and show him all the love and respect this city has for him.

It's truly unbelievable that we are here, accepting that he has left us on this earth, but we are grateful to have had him in our lives albeit too short, as he has filled us all with undying memories that will keep us going.

Thank you in advance for the love that has been shown, we see and appreciate each and every one of you.

Funeral arrangements including the date of the homegoing service will be updated Wednesday, February 1.
