For the past 15 to 20 years, Jack has been a steady and familiar presence standing at the corner each day to help our kids cross Lincoln at 9th. At 82 years old, his dedication, kindness, and commitment have touched countless families. Recently, Jack experienced two heart attacks in the past month, and while we are grateful he is on the road to recovery, it has led to his well-earned retirement.
As parents, we know how many close calls Jack has saved us from over the years. He has protected us countless times against drivers too hurried to stop. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
We are organizing this fundraiser to thank Jack for his many years of service and to help send him into retirement with the appreciation he truly deserves. In addition to donations, we invite families to share cards, notes, and children’s drawings that we will collect and give to Jack. Let’s come together as a community to celebrate Jack and show our gratitude for everything he has done for us.
