Hello, my name is Elena and I am fundraising for my dear friend Alexis. Alexis and I have known each other over 20 years and she is one of the kindest, giving and most loving individuals I know. A few years ago she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and has had to be hospitalized for flare ups. As of late she is in the midst of a very severe flare up and has been in the hospital for 20 days. Ulcerative Colitis is an autoimmune disorder and when a flare up happens it attacks her immune system and colon. Medications are not working and her body is not responding, they have a few more medications to try before diagnosis gets very serious. Alexis is a wonderful 5th grade teacher ,

a loving mother to her daughter Aria and a caring wife to her husband Rico. She misses her family very much and due to Covid she has not been able to see her husband and daughter for her whole hospital stay. Her patience is wearing thin as she dreams of the day she gets to hold and be with her family again. Currently the doctors are unsure as to when she will be able to get back to work and she has already exhausted her sick leave. The hospital bills are adding up as are the household bills. Any financial support that you would be able to donate will help towards those bills and also relieve some of the stress that is weighing heavy on Alexis and her husband Rico.
