Ethiopia Mission Trip
Donation protected
Hi Friends and Family!
As many of you know, my mom has led several mission trips over the last six years with The JOY FM & Buckner International. They have taken thousands of pairs of shoes to orphans in Central & South America. Hearing her stories after she returned from that first year, I knew I would want to go with her one day! However, being in college my schedule never allowed me to take a full week off in September.
Aside from her trips ... for a long time, I've secretly wanted to go on a mission trip to Africa. Naturally, the best scenario would be for these two dreams to collide. A trip with my mom AND a trip to Africa. As I watched my mom start to prepare and pray for her 2014 trip, I hoped this would be my year to go, regardless of where she went. When she told me it was Ethiopia, I immediately started crying and told her I was in. I am both excited and anxious for what is to come this week, but I can't wait to show these kids love and compassion in ways they've never before experienced. We will be taking brand new shoes and socks to orphanages as well as spending the day playing, singing and doing arts and crafts!
I realize how often people ask for support for mission trips; it's endless. This is yet another. But I fully believe this is my year! I would love your support as my team prepares for this journey. First, you can support us in prayer. Please pray for safe travel. (Actually pray for me as I fly with my "terrified-of-flying" mother!) Also pray for the kids we'll be interacting with in Ethiopia. Second, if you could support me financially, it'd be a huge gift! I'm still a poor, recent college graduate! Ha! The expense is more than I can afford by myself. The total trip adds up to $3,800. I have been graciously given a $1,000 donation already, but that still leaves me with $2,800 to raise. Would you consider making a small donation? Every little bit counts and I am so grateful for your support in both areas.
Whether you feel led to contribute financially, or through prayer, or both, all your support is appreciated.
I look forward to allowing God to use me in Ethiopia, of course knowing, that I'll be the one changed. I can't wait to share all of the stories with you when I return.
Thank you,
Haley
