Hi -

I'm Thomas "Gus" Peterson, from El Granada, CA.  I'm a Californian born and raised and I just can't help getting involved in politics...and when I do, I go places - sometimes literally! This time I won an election at the Congressional District 14 Caucus in South San Francisco to be the 2nd male from my district representing Senator Bernie Sanders at the Democratic National Convention in Philidelphia this July. 

This trip is expensive because the Democratic Party has worked with the hotels to establish a "Green Zone" around them and the hotel rooms are $600-700 per night.  I have to be there for four nights minimum to do my job right.  This money will be used, along with my credit card, to pay for food, lodging and airfare.  Although I am a relatively sucessful engineer, I can't afford this trip on my own I'm afraid to say.

I will be the first person I know to get this involved in a US Presidential race, and It makes me feel good that I too can make a difference like the generation before me (my father has a picture of himself with MLK).

Personally I hate asking for money and am loathe to do this, but I appreciate any support you can give and will be eternally grateful should you choose to do so.
