Emily's Nursing Trip to Belize!

Hello to all friends and family!
As many of you know, I am currently a nursing student at the University of South Carolina and I will be graduating in May of 2016. Due to the intense work load of nursing school nursing students are prohibited from studying abroad, which makes it almost impossible to combine my love to travel and my love to care for others. ALMOST impossible. I have found an organization known as International Service Learning that is taking a volunteer medical team, specifically nurses, to Belize for two weeks this August. This trip will allow me to combine the two things I love most - traveling and helping those in need!
I will be volunteering in Belize with my close friend and fellow USC nursing student Samantha Wisnom. We are both very excited to be able to work with physicians and nurses at local clinics to provide healthcare for those in need. I am very eager to put to use the skills and knowledge that I have gathered over my three years in nursing school. I cannot wait to further my abilities and gain experience that will positively impact the rest of my life.
This opportunity is amazing, but it unfortunately comes with a hefty price tag. The total cost of the trip is going to be around $3,000, which includes airfare and required vaccinations. If I were to reach my goal of $1,500 then the remainder of the money would go toward purchasing medical supplies for the many clinics in Belize. I am extremely thankful for everyone who has taken the time to read my story. For those who have a desire to donate, I thank you immensely for helping me achieve this dream of mine.
