After many years as a wilderness guide Ally is taking her life in a new direction. While she still loves this job, several injuries have made it increasingly difficult to continue in this career. Her natural ability to connect with and support people made her a very successful guide. She has spent years giving her time as a support group facilitator, mentoring at-risk youth and doing community outreach. The fulfillment she experiences in these volunteer capacities lead her to continue her studies in the social services field.
After working hard and graduating with Honours from Humber, she has been accepted into the very competitive Advanced Standing Social Work program at Ryerson University. She has received The Leo Smit Humanitarian Scholarship and The Garth and Louise Mullin Overcoming Adversity Scholarship toward achieving this dream, but it is not nearly enough to offset the costs of university tuition. I am asking for your generous donation to help her as she enters this new chapter of her life.
Thank you for any support you can offer*!
p.s. don't forget to include your snail mail addy to you can revieve your thank you gift, and here are Ally's photos that are on the cards:
*all cards, photographs, cleaning days and other thank you gifts will be sent by the end of September, 2014.
